A message from Betty Strifler, Clerk of the Circuit Court

The Clerk of the Circuit Court, established by the Constitution of 1838, is the public trustee for the county. The Clerk provides the checks and balances in county government by acting in the capacity of Clerk to the Board, Clerk to the Court, Keeper of the Public Records, Comptroller and Internal Auditor of county funds.

The Clerk's office performs nearly 1,000 different constitutional and statutory functions or duties, representing a broad and diverse scope of responsibilities.

I am personally committed to continuous improvement of the services we provide to the citizens of Citrus County, while upholding the confidence and trust of our community and reducing impact on our resources.

I have had the pleasure of serving you for more than twenty years and I am grateful every day for the opportunity you have given me. My colleagues here in the Clerk's Office are the best and brightest and I am privileged to work with them.
